Mike and Kim’s Guestbook Album

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

A couple of months ago, we photographed Kim and Mike’s engagement session.  We had a lot of fun going around the East Village and downtown with them.  Kevin had designed a guestbook album for their wedding so that their guests could write messages to them on their special day.  We’ve noticed guests at weddings always have so much fun writing funny messages to the bridal couple.

This was one of my favorite moments from the day.  Such a sweet moment.

This was Kim’s favorite page.  We called this their Blooper page because it showed how much fun they like to have together.

We had so much fun photographing their wedding a couple of weeks ago and we’ll be posting some of our favorite photos from that soon.

Collage Canvas

Monday, June 21st, 2010

A few weeks ago, we started offering a new product called a Collage Canvas.  This is a great product to show off a variety of your favorite photos from a session or wedding all in one place.  Kim and Mike decided they’d get one for their home.

Mike and Kim’s Engagement Session

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

A few weeks ago, We photographed Kim and Mike’s engagement session in the downtown area.   Although we didn’t intent this, we all realized that by the end of the day, that red seemed to be the theme of their session because it was in almost every location we went.

Mike and Kim are such a fun and relaxed couple.  They complement each other really well and always have a lot of fun together.

I love this sweet moment between them.

Kim and Mike, thanks for spending the day with us.  We are really looking forward to your beautiful wedding in a vineyard in July.  You two are such a sweet couple and we know it’ll be a very meaningful day.

Jessie & Scott’s Engagement Guestbook

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

We received Jessie and Scott’s “Story of Our Love” engagement guestbook album yesterday – just in time for them to pick it up. The “Big Day” is tomorrow! Jessie has put a lot of work into planning and designing the details of the wedding. I can’t wait to see the results of all her hard work.

The cover of the guestbook album is padded (a new feature) and printed on canvas

Here are the pages of the album…

(introduction)

(Jessie told us this black and white image of them kissing is her favorite image)

There were so many images that we created from their Story of Our Love sessions, but didn’t have room for in the album since we had to leave plenty of whitespace for people to sign on.

Jessie and Scott: Story of Our Love Session 2 (Part 2)

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Some of you may remember Jessie and Scott’s Des Moines Engagement Session last Fall.  They had met while attending high school in Des Moines then went on to the University of Iowa for college.  They are presently living in Iowa City.  Since both Iowa City and Des Moines are important places to their love story, Kevin and I wanted to make sure to photograph them in the locations that were most special to them.

Jessie loved this photo – it was her vision for a sunset portrait, we made it happen!

I love this sweet moment between the two of them.

This is Kevin’s favorite image created for Jessie and Scott’s guestbook (its going to look sweet! We’ll post the pages after they’re finished.)

We have really enjoyed getting to know Jessie and Scott the past several months.  They are easy going, creative and fun to be around.  Their wedding is less than a month away!  We’re so excited.

It’s easier than ever to let us know what you think of our portraits.  Please leave a comment.  We love to hear your feedback.  Your comments inspire new ideas for us.  What is your favorite portrait from Jessie and Scott’s Story of Our Love Session?

Scott and Jessie’s Story Of Our Love Post 2

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Another cute family photo from the dog park. We can’t wait to see how much little Tuck has grown when we photograph him again in the Spring for their Iowa City part of their session.

I love Jessie’s expression in this. You can tell how much she loves Scott in this one.

This one was taken in Valley Junction at a nice shop. Another cute, snuggly one of them. I love how relaxed Scott and Jessie are with each other.

Check back soon for some more portraits on Jessie and Scott!

Jessie and Scott’s Story of our Love Session Post 1

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

You’ll probably remember a couple of months ago that we posted a sneak preview from Jessie and Scott’s Fall Story of our Love session. With all the busyness with the holidays, we didn’t get a chance to meet with them until last weekend so here are some of the best from their session. Scott and Jessie love drinking coffee together so this was taken in a coffee shop. I love the expressions of them gazing at each other.

Here’s a photo of Jessie with Tuck and Callie while Scott went to fetch another collar for Callie. It was snowing while we were at the dog park but you’d never know it was that cold by the expression on Jessie’s face.

I love this one.

Here is Scott and Jessie’s favorite photo of the day because it shows their family. They decided when they announce their engagements in the papers that they’re going to use this one. We have a dog named Buddy so we love sharing cute pet stories with them.

We will be posting more portraits from their session within the next week so keep checking back!

Story of Our Love: Scott and Jessie

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

It seems to be a trend with us that the weather doesn’t cooperate with us for Story of Our Love engagement sessions (to the point of nearly calling it off). However, it also follows that the couples we work with have been very open-minded and we end up capturing some really amazing photographs for them.

Well, we didn’t break our streak with Scott and Jessie! As we drove to our first location, Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines (for the dog park), the first snowfall of the year was raging! But between Jessica, Scott and us, we were determined to capture some fun, intimate portraits.

The snowfall subsided after we arrived at Valley Junction. We found some great locations and backgrounds at Valley Junction – had it been warmer (and had more daylight), we could have spent hours photographing there!

As you can see, we still had some light snow on the ground at the dog park. We had a lot of fun with their dogs, Tucker (the Chocolate Lab puppy) and Callie (the Yellow Lab).

Scott and Jessie were high school sweethearts from Valley High School and now live in Iowa City, so we captured part of their session here in Des Moines and the other part will be in Iowa City in the Spring. We can’t wait to photograph them at their favorite hot spots around Iowa City.
