Here is some of our favorites from 2009.
What is your favorite photo from Barber Photography this year?
Here is Jessie and Scott’s beautiful wedding album. They chose a leather chocolate color cover because this was one of their wedding colors.

The pattern that we used for the background of this page, Jessie had used on her programs and invitations. We always like to incorporate little personal touches into wedding albums.

Jessie and Scott had their wedding reception at the Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City. We were very impressed with the staff there. Barb, the events coordinator, took good care of us throughout our time there. She was organized and friendly. She brought some golf carts around so we could take some photos of Jessie and Scott near Hole 1. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and conscientious. The food was incredible. Kevin and I have been recommending the Tournament Club to any golfers we know for its picturesque landscape.
We took this photo in the proshop. Jessi and Scott are Hawkeye fans so we liked that we could incorporate that into a photo of their rings.
Outside the back doors, Jessie and Scott told us of this location that was great for big group photos. It was raining on and off all day but this whole group was under the shelter of an awning.
We highly recommend the Tournament Club for anyone looking for a reception site for their wedding or for a corporate party. It has become our favorite new venue for weddings. Thanks again Barb for all your hard work.
The last blog posting from Jessie and Scott’s Wedding.
One of my favorite parts of the day was hearing the toasts. Jessie and Scott had dated since high school so it was really cool to hear the meaningful and funny stories from their family and friends.
I love this one of Jessie dancing with her parents.
Congratulations Jessie and Scott. You are an amazing couple and have been a joy to work with. Thanks for asking us to be a part of your special day. I’m sure you’ll have many more adventures in your life ahead.
We had fun photographing Jessie and Scott’s wedding. The weather that day was on our side. We photographed all the formal portraits outside before the wedding but it rained hard during the wedding and then the rain broke as everyone left the church and we were able to get a few portraits at the golf course before the rain started again.
This was one of my favorite photos I took that day.
Kevin took this one right before Jessie and Scott saw each other for the first time.
Sarah captured this fun moment of the bridesmaids watching Jessie and Scott’s first meeting.
I love this photo of Jessie. She was such a relaxed bride. She looks radiant. Keep checking back this week for more from their wedding!
We received Jessie and Scott’s “Story of Our Love” engagement guestbook album yesterday – just in time for them to pick it up. The “Big Day” is tomorrow! Jessie has put a lot of work into planning and designing the details of the wedding. I can’t wait to see the results of all her hard work.
The cover of the guestbook album is padded (a new feature) and printed on canvas
Here are the pages of the album…

(Jessie told us this black and white image of them kissing is her favorite image)
There were so many images that we created from their Story of Our Love sessions, but didn’t have room for in the album since we had to leave plenty of whitespace for people to sign on.
Some of you may remember Jessie and Scott’s Des Moines Engagement Session last Fall. They had met while attending high school in Des Moines then went on to the University of Iowa for college. They are presently living in Iowa City. Since both Iowa City and Des Moines are important places to their love story, Kevin and I wanted to make sure to photograph them in the locations that were most special to them.
Jessie loved this photo – it was her vision for a sunset portrait, we made it happen!
I love this sweet moment between the two of them.

This is Kevin’s favorite image created for Jessie and Scott’s guestbook (its going to look sweet! We’ll post the pages after they’re finished.)
We have really enjoyed getting to know Jessie and Scott the past several months. They are easy going, creative and fun to be around. Their wedding is less than a month away! We’re so excited.
It’s easier than ever to let us know what you think of our portraits. Please leave a comment. We love to hear your feedback. Your comments inspire new ideas for us. What is your favorite portrait from Jessie and Scott’s Story of Our Love Session?
Here are some of our favorite photos from Jessie and Scott’s “Story of Our Love” engagement session in Iowa City.
