Last week, we went to the Harvey’s home to hang their wall portraits and loved the area they chose in their home to display their portraits. These hallways that are shown are right when you enter the family’s home so everyone who enters their home will know just how important family is to them. They chose a combination of gallery wrapped canvases and stand out mount wall portraits which complimented each other well in style.
After we hung the portraits, the Harveys invited us to join them for dinner which made for a very fun night. We have felt so welcomed by this family and have really enjoyed working with them.

These 3 gallery wrapped canvas display is what we call an Aspen. They are great for long walls like this where you’d like to show a combination of your favorite photos.

About a month or two ago, we just began offering these collage wall portraits and they have been very popular. The Harveys chose to do stand out mount photos of each of their daughters’ families and a canvas of all the grandchildren.

A couple of months ago, we photographed Kim and Mike’s engagement session. We had a lot of fun going around the East Village and downtown with them. Kevin had designed a guestbook album for their wedding so that their guests could write messages to them on their special day. We’ve noticed guests at weddings always have so much fun writing funny messages to the bridal couple.

This was one of my favorite moments from the day. Such a sweet moment.

This was Kim’s favorite page. We called this their Blooper page because it showed how much fun they like to have together.
We had so much fun photographing their wedding a couple of weeks ago and we’ll be posting some of our favorite photos from that soon.

A few weeks ago, we started offering a new product called a Collage Canvas. This is a great product to show off a variety of your favorite photos from a session or wedding all in one place. Kim and Mike decided they’d get one for their home.

Mandy and Zack chose this cute Skyscraper to display their photos from their children’s last Grins and Giggles Session. A Skyscraper is a 5×30 inch piece of photographic art we can design either horizontally or vertically. This is a great way to display photos in most family’s homes because you don’t need a big wall to hang it on. We love the Skyscraper that Mandy and Zack chose so much we think we’re going to order one for our studio wall!

Kevin and I went to an art festival put on by Stookey Companies out at Valley West Mall this weekend. Kevin and I like to attend this show every year. We love talking to the artists every year and hearing about how they create their art. This year I ended up finding a beautiful bracelet that Kevin got me as a Valentine’s Day gift and got a photo of a pretty water lily as a Christmas gift for my friend (I like to shop throughout the year when I see things for my loved ones, not just after Thanksgiving).
Kevin and I fell in love with a painting created by N.D Gordon. I love horses and we love how the movement is shown in the brushstrokes. Also we love how the bright colors show how lively and fun the horses are. Kevin got it for me as an early Christmas gift. Here’s how it looks above our mantle:

Kevin and I have decided that something new we will blog about is showing how our client’s portraits look on their walls. Wall portraits really personalize your home and can enhance your decor. We have started offering Wild Sorbet Frames this Fall and our clients love them. They are hand crafted and hand painted and come in over 100 colors.
Earlier this week, we went to Zack and Mandy’s house to hang their wall portraits in their hallway. They had chosen the Triplett frames, which come in a set of 3, and chose 1 photo of each of their kids and one family photo. They chose to have them hung in their hallway where their loved ones can see them as they enter their home or when they go up to the second floor.

We love the colors that Zack and Mandy chose! Don’t they look great?

Here is Jessie and Scott’s beautiful wedding album. They chose a leather chocolate color cover because this was one of their wedding colors.

The pattern that we used for the background of this page, Jessie had used on her programs and invitations. We always like to incorporate little personal touches into wedding albums.

We received Jessie and Scott’s “Story of Our Love” engagement guestbook album yesterday – just in time for them to pick it up. The “Big Day” is tomorrow! Jessie has put a lot of work into planning and designing the details of the wedding. I can’t wait to see the results of all her hard work.

The cover of the guestbook album is padded (a new feature) and printed on canvas

Here are the pages of the album…

(Jessie told us this black and white image of them kissing is her favorite image)

There were so many images that we created from their Story of Our Love sessions, but didn’t have room for in the album since we had to leave plenty of whitespace for people to sign on.

When we originally started offering “Skyscraper” portraits, we specifically had seniors in mind. Jessie and Scott liked the idea of a skycraper for some photos from their “Story of Our Love” engagement portraits so that they could have some photos of their dogs – Tuck in particular, since he’s a growing and quickly-changing puppy.
Through a twist of computer issues and less than wonderful planning in Photoshop, I ended up creating a new Skyscraper background design. You really have to see this up close to see the results, but I am loving how it came out. (Even though I know exactly how it will look while editing on the computer, It is always amazing to see the results when we get the photos back from our lab.)
As it turns out, the colors we selected for Jessie and Scott ended up perfectly matching our curtains – where we have our sample skyscraper portrait normally hung. So… we may end up having to order a second of this wall portrait!

We just received the album from Doug and Molly’s wedding in Ames, Iowa.
Doug and Molly’s wedding was very special to us because of the memories involved with it. They had attended ISU together and we created some amazing portraits of them around campus. Our favorite from their wedding day was in front of the campanile. Also they were getting married at the church that they had attended while in college. Molly’s sister had also gotten married in this church and we took some portraits of her by this stained glass window that her sister also had gotten portraits taken in front of. We love to photograph these special moments in a couple’s life and this is a lot of the fun of photographing weddings.
As you can see, the pages lay flat and allows us to create one continuous page spread with no interruption of the images.

Here are the pages in the album.
